Welcome to the Machine
i've been telling Ian (that's ian livie, my scottish brother in arms) for months that i'd put up my own blog. you've gotta admit, the concept "ian livie's blog sucks" is some of the most compelling stuff out there.
it took me a while, because i was so busy reading posts on the nutty professor's blog -- they come out at least once every two weeks -- that there just wasn't enough time in the day.
anyhow, here it is. enjoy.

Serious stuff here but something I hope you'll introduce into your blog.....
Since I've been hearing so much about sexual predators and what to do with them, where to put them, how to keep track of them....even in Boca Raton where we're changing some things to keep them further away from children and children's activities, I keep coming up with this thought.
Sexual predator registries don't seem to be working too well as we've seen recently in Idaho, if the predator doesn't register, we lose track of them....keeping electronic message reading bands on them doesn't seem to work because they just cut the damn things off....several stories in the recent past have verified that. The registries at this point appear to be state by state not a national registry with national warnings....pictures, info., etc available to us.
The electronic bands that some states use...as I said, are useless!! Sooooo, why can't the country as a country, not state by state, invoke some sort of law that would make it legal and NECESSARY to implant a device on any person who is found guilty of sexual acts on children under the age of 16 and would have to be implanted before they enter prison. It would also have to impact predators who are already in prison and eligible for release (how the hell that happens I can't understand!!!) and would have to be implanted before they leave prison. That device would have to be permanent, even if the predator were released from prison (they shouldn't be), and could be tracked nationally. The device would be permanently implanted into the testicle and/or vagina of the convicted person. They sure wouldn't go cutting that off, right? IMPLANT A TRACKING DEVICE DIRECTLY INTO THEM....MAKE IT PERMANENT!!!!!!!
Have you heard any mention of anything like this? I haven't, and I think it would be an answer to the sexual predator problems this country's going through right now......it would be a lasting answer to a growing population of sexual predators and their continuance of preying on kids. It's a legislative problem and they damned well could find a way to implement it!!
Your thoughts....
my thoughts on this are simple. touch a kid, lose your dick.
not to be crude, but really. there are a few problems with implants. first, no matter how permanent they're supposed to be, guys could still dig them out if they were determined enough. second, unless we have enough cops to track their little beacon locator 24-7, there's not much use until AFTER they kidnap another kid and IF the cops know it was them. finally, i think it sets a bad precedent for our liberty if we do that ... what's to stop law enforcement from requiring that anyone who's ever been arrested gets an implant? all i'm saying is that it's a slippery slope.
a far better alternative i think - even if our justice system refuses to keep garden shears in the courtroom for cases of child abuse - is to increase penalties for any act against a child. i personally think these penalties should be equivalent to, say, second degree murder, in terms of jail time, etc. this is one type of crime where i really feel we can't afford to sit back and hope these people can be rehabilitated. case after case seems to prove that it's a sickness that won't go away.
and that's all i have to say about that - this is a fucking family blog for christ sake. oops.
Increasing and maintaining the increase of a penalty is a good start. However, implant the damned computer chip into the testicle of one of those sob's and let's see how soon he digs it out!! It's so far out of control right now that 'testicle chips' might become a snack!!
Love ya Ben.
