Walken Update
i really hope hillary doesn't run, to tell you the truth. not because i don't think she'd be a good president, but because the republicans would beat her down, throw her in a dumpster, and piss on her with their well oiled smear machine. it would easily be the ugliest campaign in the history of elections. and there's no way in hell she'd win. sorry. sad but true.
in lighter news ...
- i installed the "winnie the pooh" head support module in Hannah's car seat today. it only took me a half hour to comlete the 5-minute job.
- dylan, chris, and katie will be here thursday night from florida for a wine country weekend. it will be great to hang out with them and get them drunk in a very sophisticated manner.
- the baby shower is on saturday. we're really looking forward to seeing everyone ... including a few who we haven't seen for some time, my third grade teacher included. also looking forward to seeing ian and lindsay, who will be taking a hammer to the old piggy bank to pay for the gas from L.A..
- the giants are looking good lately (not saying much, in the context of this miserable season, but it's something). randy winn hit for the cycle last night, and is doing great again this evening.
- we had our weekly childbirth class last night. nobody passed out, and no paramedics were necessary. in a couple weeks they'll be having the breastfeeding session. supposedly no guys are allowed, since a lactation consultant will be there instructing the mommies on proper technique. i might show up anyway and hang around outside the window with the video camera ... it's not often you get the chance to see 20+ naked boobies in the same room (unless you're Ian).

Ben, I really think Hillary can take the piss from the best of them!! She's taken alot already so more shouldn't phase her much.
Momma J.
i have to say, regretfully, i agree with your feeling about hillary. i think she'd be a great president (after all, wasn't she almost already?), but i don't think she has a chance against that group and their tactics. it's not so much whether SHE can take it, but how gullible the average american voter is (and we know the answer to that).
mom
Nothing is impossible, but I think a Hillary presidential run would be damaging not only to Democratic chief executive hopes, but also to every closely-contested congressional contest (that is four c-words in a row...man, can I write or what?). Hillary will bring out every supply-side economics loving, same-sex marriage-hating, reactionary in the country. The Democrats stand a good chance of being smothered. We all need to decide what we want out of a candidate: someone who matches our ideological beliefs or someone who is electable in the current climate of American discourse. In the end, the the most important election will not be in 2008, but in 2006. The Democrats NEED to retake the House and Senate and actually develop an agenda other than "we don't like the current administration."
I don't Lindsay and I will need to break the piggy bank, but thanks to my bad luck with the good people at Midas, I probably will have cancel my plans to shop in beautiful downtown Petaluma (which is fine, since I have enough antiques anyway).
And just so you know, I redeemed a bunch of cans and bottles...now we are $3 richer for gas money. The things we do to see you!
you could have a garage sale and sell all of ian's books ... just an idea.
I second selling Ian's books. He must have $1,000's of dolloars worth!!
I would love to sell some of Ian's books...they are very heavy to move. There is also the option of selling the cat for scrap, but she doesn't like this idea.
Look, I would love to sell my books, but there simply isn't a market for them unless you know someone who needs to get there hands on a variety of post-structuralist works on the history of the asylum or several monographs that attempt to explain and define the avant-garde.
And for the record, I used the wrong kind of 'There' in my last entry to be ironic, not because I failed to proofread my writing. BTW, kudos on having 9 (nine) comments on a single entry...well done
you mean ten comments.
you mean eleven! Heh!
ben! baby shower tomorrow! be there or be totally lame.
by the way, pat bradley called and said she would be in attendance. she's excited to see you guys.
